In this YouTube video I’m sharing a simple yet powerful sketchbook warm-up: a mirroring exercise where you draw with both hands at the same time. This playful activity helps you to:
- Tap into both sides of your brain
- Let go of perfection and simply enjoy mark-making
- Improve focus and mindfulness
- Explore the unique line qualities of your non-dominant hand
All you’ll need is a sketchbook and two pencils - that’s it!
This exercise is not about creating a finished artwork, but about loosening up, relaxing, and exploring movement on the page. It’s a great way to start a creative session, get into the flow, and even surprise yourself with new kinds of marks and lines.
