Gorse Hill Hotel, Surrey - Saturday 16th March 2024
9.30am - 5pm
In this one-day sketching retreat with Susan, you will be looking at how to create interesting sketches and sketchbook spreads from the everyday objects around you.
As a group we will be working on our powers of observation through various simple exercises that are both fun and instructive as well as taking time to understand the materials we are working with. Throughout the day retreat you will be working in pencil, pen and ink to create lots of doodles, sketches and drawings. We will be studying simple objects such as cups, vases and jugs as well as the small everyday items we find all around us. Let’s really explore the beauty of the everyday and discover how you can fit sketching into your regular routine, even if you just have 2 minutes to spare. After the retreat you will come away inspired and creatively full, with plenty of completed sketches and ideas for what to continue sketching after the retreat is over. Not to mention the happy memories of sharing this experience with other keen creatives.
